Why try marriage counseling?

There are several barriers that couples encounter when thinking about starting marriage counseling. It can be expensive. It requires you to take on another task when you are already very busy. You have to tell a stranger about your marital problems and some people worry about being judged or told that they are the ones at fault. If any of that sounds familiar then know that you are not the only one who has worried about that very problem.

A good marriage counselor is there to help you reconnect with the person you fell in love with. It’s our job to support you and your partner, not be the judge of your fights. The only people who can decide what is right for your relationship are you and your partner. Trying marriage counseling can be scary, however, there are also some really compelling reasons to try marriage counseling. Here are just a few…

  • because it’s cheaper than a divorce!

  • because you will take the problems with you!

  • because your kids deserve both their parents!

  • because forever is a long time to be lonely!

  • because of how you felt the day you choose them as your person!

  • because the hardest thing to live with is regret!

  • because being in love didn’t come with a manual!

  • because you both deserve to be happy!
